It’s actually not that exciting because it’s entirely a bug fix release. But I’m fairly certain I’ve fixed the two remaining large glitches. Though no one was able to come up with a reliable way to trigger them.
I was forced to root out the underlying issues since I couldn’t test these things out. But I’m fairly certain I’ve got things working. The glitches in question were the NaN lives glitch, which occurs after a game over sometimes, and the powerup visualisation glitch, which causes the white bubble that covers power transitions to freeze as a tiny box. So if any one enconters these glitches while playing a game that has v1.11 on the title screen, please let me know.
And if you’re hosting the game on your site, please update to version 1.11 so your users won’t encounter these glitches.
Assuming I’ve nailed these glitches, I’m done with AKR2 and I’m moving on to the next project. It’s an NES styled platformer based on a popular internet character. I started it sometime while developing AKR2, meaning it to be a small project, but it ballooned into something bigger and I had to halt development.
The good news is, it was mostly done. At least in terms of content. There’s a lot of stuff I learned form AKR2 that I’ll be incorporating into the new game. And I’ll be doing an extensive public beta, but not until it’s in a completable state. So look forward to that in the coming months.
